Timorese student in Korea Wins 2011 Prize Awarding Ceremony & Year-end Party for Korean Government Scholarship Students(NIIED)



This picture was taking before received an AWARD FOR RECOGNITION OF EXEMPLARY ACTIVITIES AS A KOREAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT BY MINISTER OF EDUCATION & TECHNOLOGY OF KOREA AND  THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (NIIED)










The 2011 Prize Awarding Ceremony & Year-end Party was held at the NIIED auditorium on Dec. 21st at 3:30 pm with approximately 250 people consisting of Korean government scholarship students, ambassadors, and university representatives.


This event, presided by Academic Researcher Lee Mi Suk, consisted of Congratulatory Performances, the Prize Awarding Ceremony, a KGSS Talent Show followed by dinner. The performances were a string quartet by Kyunghee University and a Korean classical music orchestra from Ewha Women's University.


The Award for Excellent Academic Achievement (awarded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology with a prize of one million Korean Won) were presented to Raj Rahul (India) for work in the Doctoral degree course at Hanyang
University, Yoshhara Saori (Japan) in the Master's degree course at Korea University, and    Tsoy Mikhail (Kazakhstan) in the Bachelor's degree course at Kyunghee University. For the Essay Contest Award, the first place award went to Liu Zhifeng (China) from Kyunghee University. The second place award went to 4 students including Kumar Sanjay (India) from Kangwon University and 21 students won the third place award. The Award for Recognition were presented to 10 students included Jaimito Marques Das Neves(East Timor) who had worked hard for their universities and communities.


'I’m very happy with this achievements. It's signify to me through my hard work and dedication in studies. As Timorese , I can compete with students from other countries said Jaimito.

He also believes that throughout  NIIED’s scholarship program , it will be  a great of  benefit to the Timorese students who are studying in South Korea and  helping them to increase their level of qualification and unique experience while their studies.

'When we will complete our studies, we will be able to make a significant contribution to the development our country' He said.

The 12 teams that participated in the talent show successfully and beautifully showed their abilities at the KGSS Talent Show presided by Jonathan (England) from Seoul National University and Olivia (France) from Ewha Women's University.
