East Timorese student in Korea Wins 2011 Prize Awarding Ceremony & Year-end Party for Korean Government Scholarship Students(NIIED)

This picture was taking before received an AWARD FOR RECOGNITION OF EXEMPLARY ACTIVITIES AS A KOREAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT BY THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT♥(NIIED)

The 2011 Prize Awarding Ceremony & Year-end Party was held at the NIIED auditorium on Dec. 21st at 3:30 pm with approximately 250 people consisting of Korean government scholarship students, ambassadors, and university representatives. This event, presided by Academic Researcher Lee Mi Suk, consisted of Congratulatory Performances, the Prize Awarding Ceremony, a KGSS Talent Show followed by dinner. The performances were a string quartet by Kyunghee University and a Korean classical music orchestra from Ewha Women's University. The Award for Excellent Academic Achievement (awarded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology with a prize of one million Korean Won) were presented to Raj Rahul (India) for work in the Doctoral degree course at Hanyang University, Yoshhara Saori (Japan) in the Master's degree course at Korea University, and    Tsoy Mikhail (Kazakhstan) in the Bachelor's degree course at Kyunghee University. For the Essay Contest Award, the first place award went to Liu Zhifeng (China) from Kyunghee University. The second place award went to 4 students including Kumar Sanjay (India) from Kangwon University and 21 students won the third place award. The Award for Recognition were presented to 10 students included Jaimito Marques Das Neves(East Timor) who had worked hard for their universities and communities.

The 12 teams that participated in the talent show successfully and beautifully showed their abilities at the KGSS Talent Show presided by Jonathan (England) from Seoul National University and Olivia (France) from Ewha Women's University.

2012 Korean Government Scholarship Program for International Students: Graduate Programs

The National Institute for International Education (NIIED) is now accepting applications for the 2012 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Studies. I'm also under the same scholarship but I am doing undergraduate .
This scholarship is said to be the most prestigious scholarship in Korea for foreigners so why don't you give it a try!

Duration of the Scholarship

o Master’s (01.09.2012 ~ 31.08.2015) : 1 yr. of Korean language + 2 yrs of Master’s

o Doctoral (01.09.2012 ~ 31.08.2016) : 1 yr. of Korean language + 3 yrs of Doctoral

Benefits

1. -Monthly Allowance : 900,000 won (KRW) per month.
2. -Research Allowance : 210,000 won for scholars in the humanities and social sciences; 240,000 won for scholars in natural and mechanic sciences, per semester.
3. -Relocation (Settlement) Allowance : 200,000 won upon arrival
4. -Language Training Fee : Full coverage
5. -Tuition : All admission fees are waived by the host institution (university). The tuition is paid by NIIED.
6. -Dissertation Printing Costs : 500,000 ~ 800,000 won, depending on the actual costs.
7. -Medical Insurance : 20,000 won per month will be provided (limited coverage).

Requirements

•  The applicant and his/her parents must have foreign citizenship.
•  Applicants should be in good health, both mentally and physically, to stay in Korea for an extended period of time.
•  Applicants must be under 40 years of age as of September 1^st, 2012 (born after September 1^st, 1972).
•  Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as of September 1, 2012.
• Applicants must maintain a grade point average (G.P.A.) of at least 2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4. 3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale, or grades/marks/score of 80% or higher from the previously attended institution.
•  Applicants who have Korean proficiency or English proficiency may    be given preference.
•  Applicants who apply for natural science and technology program may be given preference.

Happy Chinese lunar NEW YEAR 2012

Today is the  Chinese lunar new year everbody is home now ready to eat the most important meal in one year with family members, outside the streets are very quiet  has fewer people ,many shops already closed down。childens are playing firecrackers ! a series of colorful celebration activities has begun and fhe festival will last about two weeks!

 According to the chinese 12 zodiac animal signs,this  year is the year of Dragon (龍),chinese people love dragon ! it's  totem of the Chinese nation and  the symbol of China.


 In China, dragon symbolizes the authority, nobly,power , intelligence and long live.
 Happy Chinese new year to Chinese all over the world,everybody enjoy the festival and have a good time with family members! wish you all a better new year! ^_^

Seoul National University Scholarship Fall 2012: IT Related Fields (Graduate School)

ITPP Selection of Students for 2O12 Fall

ITPP, sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy, offers a customized master's and doctoral degree program for government officials, employees of public institutions or senior-level researchers at national research centers working in the IT fields of foreign countries. All the students will receive scholarships, up to 2 years for master's students and up to 3 years for doctorate students. 

Qualifications of Applicants
- IT related government officials or Senior-level researchers at National
Research Centers working in the IT related fields.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in the IT- related area (an applicant for
Ph.D should hold Master's degree, Master's should hold Bachelor's degree)

Financial Support
- Tuition fees (Master's Degree: up to 2 years/ Doctorate: up to 3 years)
- Airfare (One way, Economy class)
- Living cost (1,5OO,OOO Korean won* per month)
- Initial moving and re-location expenses and medical insurance
* 1,14O Korean won : (approximately) 1.00 US dollar (as of Jan 2012).

Before skiing you can visit the Blue House and you will also visit the famous Nami Island!!! Check it out
