DESIGN KOREA 2009, an annual design business event, was held from December
2 through 8 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon under the theme “Design, Engine of
Green Growth”. Bringing together world’s leading design-oriented companies and
individuals, the event served as an opportunity to share up-to-date design trends
and search for cooperative ways for economic growth.

Foreigners associate Korea with “Technology” the most. Korea’s top 10 new
technologies of the year were selected at Korea Technology Awards 2009 ceremony
on December 15. Sales of the products using these technologies reached 7.1 trillion
won ($6.1 billion) this year, and are expected to grow to over 11 trillion won.


• The 2nd Camp of World Students in Korea

The 2nd camp of “World Students in Korea” was held from 18 to 19 of December.
Students visited various industrial and cultural sites including LG Electronics,
Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction, GM Daewoo, the Hahoe Folk Village,
and Buseoksa Temple.

Mr. Henrique Goncalves Teixeira (Brazil) of WSK 1st batch and Ms. Sara Florian
(Guatemala) of WSK 2nd batch will appear in “Live Today”, a KBS 2TV program.
